On July 14, the comet was for visible an hour before the dawn sky. I've been out after sunset to see it and found it easily without any optical aid, and in fact the tail is visible to the naked eye as well. Recorded on the night of July 13/14 , the composite of untracked foreground and tracked and filtered sky exposures teases out details in the comet's tail not visible to the unaided eye. It was first discovered by NASA on March 27.
