The skills challenge facing manufacturing is all the more acute because of the transformation of the sector toward more specialised and disaggregated advanced manufacturing processes. In previous years the report has been released near the end of the calendar year in partnership with Manufacturers’ Monthly. These product transformations are being driven by significant advances in digital connectivity and analytics, which are also playing a role in creating more efficient supply chains and factory floors.
