Wanted a shooting head they put on a weight forward sinking line. Kind of a bummer since I was in the market for a full setup for my wife. My wife wants to start fly fishing when we go backpacking so I thought I would go to the local experts. Man, what a cool fly shop!
I walked into the shop where the one employee was talking with a customer. My guide Mike was very courteous and helpful. It's great to have a local shop back in Reno. The only reason that I am giving two stars is because of the other employee that works there who was at least friendly.Reno Fly Shop is now my 'go to' place when I need to stock up for the season.. When I got to the shop I was told that I could not purchase the item because it was the shop owners and that if I wanted one they'd have to special order it, that would of been very nice to know before I drive 45 min to come make a purchase.Thank you Jim for the flies, license, and detailed advice on Tuesday - everything from the traffic, route, parking lots, and flies were spot on! This is the only place to go.

Luckily there is a larger non-local store very close that has amazing customer service. He finished the transaction on his cell phone and without giving me a receipt or even a "have a nice day" just got up and walked away. The staff has been very friendly and helpful on all of my visits since my first. They can even book you lessons and a guide at a reasonable price. I was very thankful to get the flies so I could leave on time the next morning.
