Welcome back. His father and grandfather worked for the Taggarts, and himself likewise. He was a mediocre man and that was his fate.

Not any more. In my opinion, he didn't get the justice he deserved. Guys like Eddie are a dime a dozen.

But his I thought that the point was that Eddie continued working for the looters just like Dagny had been doing until near the end and that was why he met the fate that he did. Eddie Willers is Dagny’s childhood friend and assistant at Taggart Transcontinental. Per Leonard Peikoff, whom Ayn Rand designated as her heir, says that the character of Eddie Willers is that of a good, average man. I don't see his end in the novel to be such a bad one.

At the end of the novel, the prime movers are actually talking about going 'back to the world', so they wouldn't have invited Willers to the valley.

What don't you understand, or what do you dissagre with? Eddie could still have gone on strike and Joined Dagny though.

Eddie Willers: "No transcontinental trains can leave San Francisco. Eddies goals were nowhere near Dagny’s, therefore his best effort went only as far as it did.

What don't you understand, or what do you dissagre with?I think that Eddie didn't go to the gulch because he chose not to go. He chose not to continue his relationship when he insisted on going to California.

Edwin "Eddie" Willers is the Special Assistant to the Vice-President in Charge of Operations at Taggart Transcontinental. "All right, Eddie. So why no invitation? My maximum effort requires that I learn everything I can to become the best that I can. Galt used Willers as a source of intelligence. If WGD is correct, it would be the actions of the government on average people that removed this ability to be a reailroad exec. The theme of AS is: What would the world be without the creators? Doesn't he share the same ideals as of that of Dagny's ?

You already tocuhed on this yourself, only prime movers were taken to Gault's Gulch. The idea is that each man is supported by his own ability.

He has friends in Galt, Dagney, Reardon, and Francisco. And he replies: "No ma'am, I'm a truck driver. I can't. Meaning that they're holding trains for ransom. He was usless to them. And what for? The last scene to include Eddie Willers shows him stranded in the desert. The goal and the effort is what separate the Gaults from the Eddies.

If you have an account, There is no reason why they wouldn't go and get him "after" the end of the I now accept that Eddie Willers was a representation of the best of the average, and therefore his fate seems quite logical, but the truck driverMaximum effort requires not only physical labor but mental activity. He might be rescued, or he might die in the desert. by the prime movers of society.
