They do have a bar in the restaurant. On the way to the restrooms, there was a lit christmas tree and an old-fashioned electric fireplace that reminded us of yesteryear. To my surprise when we arrived it wasn't busy. So, the atmosphere was pleasing.Not worth the ride if you gotta drive a distance.Service was slow and the food was ok.Unless you live down the road I'm sure there's another place you'd like to go.The classic Buffalo Head Restaurant has been re-opened as the Buffalo Head Steakhouse.
when my wife mentioned something to the waitress about the wait the waitress argued with her, telling my wife that we were told it would be slow. La comida estaba bastante sabrosa y a un precio razonable para la zona de Phi Phi en la que estaba. We have always have had excellent home cooked meals in huge portions with great service. We enjoyed our dinner because it was relaxing and in a winter-lodge type atmosphere. It was all down hill from there. Then we waited and waited for bread, salads etc but never received. 9 times out of 10 we eat at the Buffalo head because the food and service is that good. We will go back and hope things return to the old standards next time.The Buffalo Head is more than just a restaurant tucked away in the Adirondacks--it's an institution! We're looking forward to returning soon.Ron .
I had to ask her several times. For example today I had a buffalo chicken salad and I kid you not it was big enough to feed a family of 4. Several of the wait staff have returned, it's always nice to visit. So far service not great AT ALL! I'd say the prices have went up again. This restaurant has many childhood memories for me since my family has a camp just up the road. Very slim pickings with beer and hard liquor as well. The stale rolls are gone and replaced with fresh bread, as are the instant mashed potatoes, they are real now.July 3 2016 our family went up for dinner, having been loyal customers for about 30 years.
The duck was average, there were no brownies in the brownie sundae dessert, the "whipped cream" on the banana cream pie did not seem to be of "homemade quality", and there were some other quality issues. Inside, there was a new wood-plank ceiling and pretty candle-light fixtures, which matched the ambience of the central fire. When see did unlock it, did not invite us in and let the inside door slam in my wife's face. We had made reservations but arrived alittle early. Bringing back the traditions, the Buffalo Head Steakhouse serves all the classic steakhouse specialties, but also has Seafood, a large Italian selection, Chops, Chicken, Turkey dinners and lunches. Buenos platos, zumos, batidos, ambiente relajado, buena música y decoración, grandes ventiladores. But, do wish they would use more berries and juice to soak into the real biscuits and use real whipped cream. There's the Buffalo head and an Italian restaurant just down the road that's it.
